Born and raised in Luxembourg, Louise pursued a master's degree in International Criminology before gaining professional experience abroad. However, she always knew she wanted to work in the non-profit sector, driven by a strong desire to contribute to meaningful causes and support those in need.
Just over a year ago, she had the opportunity to join Digital Inclusion ASBL as an Assistant Manager. In this role, she oversees communications and coordinates free computer classes offered in 10 different languages to ensure accessibility for a diverse range of learners. Beyond organizing the classes, she has also had the opportunity to teach in three different languages, allowing her to engage directly with participants and witness firsthand the impact of digital education. Working at Digital Inclusion has reinforced her commitment to meaningful work and the power of social impact.
Mia is a freelance communications specialist at Coopération Nord-Sud (CNS), passionate about exploring the intersection between business, the environment and human rights. After laying a legal foundation through a Bachelor of Law and experience in a corporate legal landscape, Mia felt a desire to engage in work at an NGO, which led her to interning at CNS. Having learnt about the organisation’s mission to change lives through education in both Sub-Saharan Africa and Luxembourg, she sought to continue engaging with the organisation whilst embarking on a Master of Law and sustainability at Utrecht University. This led to her current work as a communications specialist parallel to her studies, where she enhances online engagement and amplifies the organisation’s mission. Continuing to uncover the overlap between her work and studies remains a passion; underlining how topics such as social entrepreneurship and corporate social responsibility play a role not only in the fight for climate justice, but also for the protection of human rights globally. Mia is now a Trade Contract Specialist at an environmental commodity trader, yet remains firm in her belief in the intersectionality of human rights and remains in this sense an advocate for their inclusion and respect in all disciplines.
